When you start a ride, we place a temporary $15 pre-authorization hold on your payment method to ensure it is valid and has sufficient funds. The pre-authorization helps us prevent fraud and ensure smooth processing once your ride is completed.
Here’s how it works:
- The $15 hold is applied when you start riding.
- Once your total ride fees reach $15 or 6 days have passed (whichever comes first), the pre-authorization is released, and your actual rental charges are billed instead.
- If your charges are less than $15, the unused amount is refunded.
- If your charges are more than $15, the pre-authorization is cancelled and the full rental fee is charged.
If you still see the hold after several days, we recommend reaching out to your bank for an update on the release timeline.
